We are excited to announce that in our quest to provide a “total care team” for the kiddos that we serve, we have officially taken the next step in this process and hired a Registered Dietitian! Laura Wolles has a wealth of knowledge and experience in many different areas and clinical settings and we could not be more excited to bring her onboard! So without further ado, let me introduce you all to the newest member of our team, a Registered Dietitian, Laura Wolles! Below are a few questions to help you get to know Laura a little more!

First tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Laura Wolles and I am a registered dietitian with a passion for all things nutrition! I enjoy everything from learning about nutritional science and medical nutrition therapy to cooking, baking, growing, and especially eating food. Pediatric nutrition has always been at the forefront of my passion as it has such a critical impact on growth and forming healthy eating habits for life.

Why did you choose to get into the nutrition field?

The spark of my interest in the nutrition field was when I was competing in sports as a teen; I realized the significance of good nutrition and athletic performance. From there, I quickly realized nutrition also had a significant role in all aspects of life: immunity, mood, weight management, chronic disease management, and so much more. Eventually, I majored in Dietetics in college and have continued to love learning about nutritional science as a registered dietitian.

What is your work experience?

I have a broad spectrum of work experience as a registered dietitian, but where my career began is also my favorite: pediatric nutrition therapy! My first job was in a small pediatric feeding clinic, which launched my career into a bigger scale at Children’s of Minnesota where I worked with tube feedings, ketogenic diet therapy, food allergies/intolerance, diabetes management, and feeding therapy. Outside of pediatrics, I have also worked in an adult diabetes clinics and public health programs.

What are you most excited about when you think about joining Family Chatterbox?

Working with families! Being able to help parents with their child’s feeding difficulties, while also promoting growth and healthy eating habits for their child, is what fuels my passion and is incredibly rewarding. I’m also looking forward to being part of such a passionate therapy team at Family Chatterbox.

Lastly and most importantly … what’s your favorite food?

Sweet potatoes!

As mentioned above, we could not be more excited to bring Laura onboard and we know you guys will absolutely love her as well! Welcome to the team Laura!
