We are STILL GROWING!

It feels like it has been awhile since I have done one of these posts! That is because not just anyone can join Family Chatterbox, we take our time looking for the right people to join our team. We look for people who absolutely love what they do, are passionate about growing and learning more and more everyday, and most importantly, we seek to hire good people, whom we can trust to bring into our family! When I think about our newest hire, she absolutely checks all of those boxes! So without further ado please join me in welcoming Hannah Lee to our Family! You can learn more about her below!

First tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hello Everyone! I grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee (Go Bucks!!) and lived there until starting undergrad at the U of M (Go Gophs!!). After graduating, I moved back to Milwaukee to attend graduate school at Marquette University. During that time, I married my high school sweetheart and started my career as a Speech-Language Pathologist. We are now moving back to the Twin Cities and I could not be more excited to join the Family Chatterbox team! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing pickleball, going to breweries, playing board games, and hanging out with my friends and family. I cannot wait to meet you!

Why did you choose Speech-Language Pathology?

Due to some ear and hearing complications, I spent a lot of time with Audiologists growing up. Due to my experience and history, I looked into Audiology a little bit when I was deciding what I wanted to study in college. Audiology and Speech-Language-Pathology require the same undergraduate degree so as I was searching, I kept reading about Speech-Language-Pathology. I thought the field fit better with my skills but would still allow me to use the knowledge around Audiology that I acquired growing up. I declared it as my major freshman year of college and never looked back!

What is your work experience?

I have always known I wanted to work with kids. Throughout undergrad, I volunteered at multiple schools, outpatient clinics, as well as the Child Language Intervention Lab at the U of M. I also spent my summers working at a daycare. Throughout graduate school, I was able to work with students in-person and virtually through Marquette’s private clinic and in an elementary school. I graduated with my master’s degree in May 2021 and began working last fall at a Head Start to 8th grade school in the Milwaukee Public School District. Over the past year, I have been able to work with students with a variety of diagnoses such as phonological disorder, articulation disorder, fluency disorder and language delay/disorder, and ASD

What are you most excited about when you think about joining Family Chatterbox

I am so excited to be able to work with children in their home environments where they feel the most comfortable. Ensuring that a child is comfortable is so important when trying to work to develop new skills. Working in the home environment also allows for close collaboration with caregivers, which can be so beneficial for carryover and generalization of skills. Lastly, I am very excited to work with the other staff members at Family Chatterbox! I have quickly learned how kind and supportive they all are and I can’t wait to learn from them all as I grow in my career as a Speech-Language Pathologist!

Lastly and most importantly … what’s your favorite food:

I don’t think I can pick just one! My favorite few are any type of pasta, bell peppers, raspberries, and tiramisu!!

We could not be more excited to have Hannah join our team! We think you guys are going to absolutely love her! We know we do! Welcome to the Family Hannah!
